Sport in Campli

Basketball
The city of Campli is a town historically linked to basketball which is an integral part of the social fabric of the village. The sport was imported from America, by two young children of Italian migrants. The Campli Sports Union was born in Campli in 1945 and became part of the Fip in 1957 but as early as 1950, the village is home to important summer tournaments involving the best basketball teams of the peninsula. The famous matches at the "Nino D'Annunzio" gymnasium made history, followed by the construction of the new sports hall in Nocella. Over the years, the passion for this wonderful team sport has grown thanks to historic managers and the commitment of sports clubs. Bowls
Bowls is an authentic and socializing sport. In Piancarani, a hamlet of the municipality of Campli, the municipal sports facility houses the bowling green, one of the best in the province. Inaugurated in 2009, it is still managed today by the "Città di Campli" amateur sports association.

Football
Campli also has a tradition in the sport of football starting with the historic “Paterno calcio”, today G. S. Paterno Tofo to the more current constitution of “ASD Campli Calcio”. Both teams train at the Capuchin sports facility in the hamlet of the same name in the municipality of Campli.
